Lego Group (Grades K-3)
This is a year-round group that encourages communication and problem solving. In each Lego group, children are assigned a job for the day: either "engineer," "supplier," or "builder." By being required to stick to their role in putting together a Lego kit, children need to utilize problem solving, communication, and frustration tolerance skills. The group leader coaches children in developing these skills while the children think they are just having fun!
Social Thinking (Ages 9-12)
Our Therapeutic Social Skills group utilizes the "Social Thinking and Zones of Regulation" curriculum. Specific skills taught throughout each group include: understanding and building relationships with others, working as part of a team, identifying feelings and regulating your emotions, managing time and being organized, and perspective taking.
Skill Development (Ages 7-14)
Offering multiple groups (Elementary and Middle School). These groups work toward the development of age appropriate self-awareness, self-advocacy, peer problem solving, and anxiety reduction. We provide the members with social coaching to teach explicit skills and understand communication. We work on learning to understand people from their perspective.
Skill Acquisition (HS and older)
Groups for high school age and older are run with a general check-in of how teens are feeling about certain aspects of their life. The leader facilitates a group discussion based on issues presented and identifies skills appropriate for the situation.
Unplug and Connect (Grades 7-10)
