Ms. MurphyMichael Birnkrant is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Tufts University in Somerville, MA, and his Master of Arts in Psychoanalytic Counseling at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis in Brookline, MA. He subsequently completed the School-Based Fellowship Program at the Boston Institute for Psychotherapy in Brookline, MA. His clinical experience includes working with children and families, adolescents, and adults in multiple settings (Including: outpatient practice, partial hospitalization programs, and inpatient psychiatric treatment). Mr. Birnkrant works with each child based on his or her individual needs, and implements cognitive behavioral, psychotherapeutic, psychodynamic, and other talk therapy techniques to best help reduce and resolve each child’s problem behaviors and symptoms in order to improve each child’s overall happiness and ability to thrive. Mr. Birnkrant also works with families in order to help improve communication skills, and thus, improve the quality of the relationships within each family.
